—A long time ago before the arrival of  the Pilgrims to  the land that we now call North America, a group of people called it their home.  They were the first real Americans; They were the Native American Indians. The Native Americans lived in  culture groups.  Each culture group had its own religion, its own ways of living, and its very own language.

The Native Americans used natural resources to meet their needs. Natural resources are things found in nature that people can use. Sunlight, air, water, plants, animals, soil, stones and minerals are examples of natural resources. The first Americans were hunters by nature who traveled from place to place in order to find food.  They used hand-made tools to hunt for ducks, geese, wild turkeys, bears, deer, buffalos , rabbits and fish.

As the Native Americans settled in different parts of Noth  America, they would built their houses from what they could find around them. Clay, trees, animal skins and even tall grass were some of the materials they used. They also began to grow many crops such as: corn, squash, and beans in their gardens. They called these crops "the three sisters." Your task is to learn more about the Native American cultures that inhabited various regions of the United States. You will pick one tribe and perforn a research using all the resources provided on this webquest.
